Ovarian Cancer
stage one
In 2001 I noticed that from my side view I actually looked pregnant.
I had three C-sections many years prior to this discovery. I went
to my doctor who set up a Cat Scan for the end of the month. I consulted
another doctor and he said, just go to the emergency room and find
out now what is wrong and not to wait till the end of the month.
So that is what I did. At the hospital they did the scan and sure
enough they found a tumor the size of a football. I was in shock
at first and the doctor at the hospital recommended me to go and
see a surgeon. Two weeks later I had the surgery and they noticed
in the biopsy that I was going into first stage Ovarian Cancer.
I was lucky that the tumor didn't burst prior as well as during
the surgery. It took me over six weeks to recover. So far I have
been able to dodge chemo, thank God! It will be two years this Saturday
since I had the surgery. I thank God everyday!
