30-39
Patricia
breast cancer
stage four

Hi, my name is Patricia and in December, 1999 at 33 years old, I was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer.   The cancer has spread to my lungs and bones.  I have been healthy all my life and this disease does not run in my family, so this news was quite a shock.  In December 1999, one week before Christmas, I had a radical mastectomy.   I started chemotherapy in January 2000 and finished in June 2000.  After chemotherapy, I tried Tamoxifen without success. I am now on Aromasin and go monthly for an IV therapy called Aredia for the bone mets and a shot of Lupron to suppress estrogen production. According to my cat scans last month, I am stable, praise the Lord!! I have a wonderful, supporting husband and a beautiful 5 year old son and a 3 year old daughter.  Without them I don't know how I would have made it this far.  They certainly keep me going.  Never give up hope!!!!
