30-39
Lucia
ovarian cancer
stage three
I had a tumor debulking surgery three weeks ago and will be starting
my first-line chemotherapy treatment in a couple days. I'm only
38 and had no known risk factors. I'm divorced with three daughters
ages 7, 9 & 12. This wasn't supposed to happen to me. This
is a sneaky and cruel cancer. I had only a few symptoms that I
didn't know would be connected in anyway with cancer. I went in
as soon as possible, but I was already at stage III. It’s so hard
to "catch" this at an early stage. My biggest fear is
dying and leaving my three young daughters. I'm in the best of
care and feel hopeful, but that fear is always in the back of my
mind. Why aren't the statistics more encouraging at this stage?
