Breast Cancer Fund
Organization is dedicated to eliminating deaths from breast cancer in our lifetime and making sure women living with breast cancer receive the best available care and support. The Breast Cancer Fund is working to find ways to reduce breast cancer--through earlier and better detection, more effective, less debilitating treatments, and prevention.

Celebrating Life Foundation
The primary purpose for which this foundation is formed is the promotion of charitable endeavors that encourage the advancement of knowledge and awareness of breast cancer risk and prevention in the African American community and for women of color; and to support such other charitable goals as the Board of Directors may deem appropriate. It has initiated and participated in seminars, workshops, forums, health fairs, and other programs and activities related to breast cancer awareness and education locally/nationally.

EduCare Inc.
EduCare provides information and a place to order books written to help those affected by breast cancer cope and become informed. The books are written by an oncology nurse who specializes in breast cancer, and includes titles such as "Your Breast Cancer Treatment Handbook", "Helping Your Mate Face Breast Cancer", and "Finding a Lump in Your Breast".

National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations (NABCO)

National Breast Cancer Coalition
The National Breast Cancer Coalition is a grassroots advocacy effort in the fight against breast cancer. In 1991, the Coalition was formed with one mission, to eradicate breast cancer through action and advocacy.

Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
The nation's largest private funder of research dedicated solely to breast cancer. In addition to funding research, the Foundation and its affiliates fund innovative breast cancer education, screening and treatment projects for the medically underserved in communities across the country.

Y-ME
Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization has a commitment to provide information and support to anyone who has been touched by breast cancer. Y-ME was founded by two breast cancer patients in 1978, when they realized that their needs for information and support could best be met by women who had also experienced breast cancer. For almost 20 years, Y-ME has served women with breast cancer and their families and friends--through a national hotline, open door groups, early detection workshops and many local chapters. Through peer support programs--breast cancer patients talking with survivors, and spouses of patients talking with spouses of survivors--Y-ME helps thousands of people each year who are concerned about or personally affected by breast cancer. Y-ME provides a 24 hotline, 800/221-2141.

National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC)
The nation's first comprehensive and leading organization providing awareness and education about ovarian cancer.

Ovarian Cancer National Alliance
In September 1997, leaders from seven ovarian cancer groups joined forces to form the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance. The site provides education, treatment and clinical trial information.

"Encore Plus" A YWCA Program
This community-based program aids women in need of early detection education and breast and cervical cancer screening and support services. National Cervical Cancer Coalition (NCCC)
The National Cervical Cancer Coalition (NCCC) is a growing coalition of women and family members/caregivers battling cervical cancer issues, women's groups, cytotechnologists, pathologists, laboratories, technology companies, cancer researchers, hospitals, organizations providing cervical cancer screening programs, other related associations, both national and worldwide, that are interested in a grass roots campaign to educate the public about cervical cancer prevention and outreach, new screening and treatment options, cervical cancer screening and follow-up programs, HPV, the limitations of the Pap smear AND its overwhelming success as a screening tool for clinicians.

American Cancer Society
Organization is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem through research, education, advocacy, and service. Some programs offered by ACS include: CanSurmount, I Can Cope, Look Good Feel Better, Reach to Recovery, and Road to Recovery.

Cancer Care
Since 1944, Cancer Care has served more than a million people for whom cancer has become a part of life. Through its professional services, the agency has provided help and hope to people with cancer of all ages, with all diagnoses, at all stages of illness. Cancer Care offers counseling, support groups, information, referrals, and practical assistance at no charge.

Cancer Research Foundation of America
Dedicated to the prevention and early detection of cancer through scientific research, education, lifestyle changes and early detection of such cancers as cervical and breast.

Cancervive
Cancervive is a Los Angeles-based, non-profit organization founded by childhood cancer survivor, Susan Nessim in 1985. Cancervive is dedicated to improving the quality of life for cancer survivors. It provides emotional support, education and advocacy to assist survivors as they cope with the aftermath of the cancer experience.

Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered (FORCE)
FORCE is a nonprofit organization for women who are at high risk of getting these cancers due to their family history and genetic status, and for members of families in which a BRCA mutation may be present. Web site can be a helpful resource for anyone who knows she is at risk, who wonders whether she might be at risk, or who cares about the issues and concerns that we face.

Gynecologic Cancer Foundation
The Gynecologic Cancer Foundation (GCF) was established by the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists (SGO) as a not-for-profit charitable organization to raise funds to support philanthropic programs to benefit women having or at risk for developing a gynecologic cancer. The mission of the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation is to identify, develop and seek funding for programs which reduce the impact of gynecologic cancers on the physical and emotional health of women and their families.

The Lesbian Community Cancer Project
The Lesbian Community Cancer Project (LCCP) promotes lesbian health with a focus on cancer-related issues. The agency provides support, information, education, advocacy, and direct services to lesbian and non-lesbian women and their families of choice.


The Mautner Project for Lesbians with Cancer

Founded in 1990, The Mautner Project is the only national organization dedicated to lesbians with cancer, their partners and caregivers. Site provides education and information to the lesbian community about cancer and advocacy on lesbian health issues in national and local arenas.

The Young Survival Coalition (YSC) is the only international, non-profit network of breast cancer survivors and supporters dedicated to the concerns and issues that are unique to young women and breast cancer. KidsCope
It's purpose to is help families and children better understand the effects from cancer and chemotherapy in a parent. Its mission is the production and distribution of educational materials designed to accomplish that goal. It is our hope that in bringing to the families some basic information about what to expect and how their child is coping and some clear and convincing portrayals of children who have coped successfully with such a life event we will improve the quality of life for any family who undergoes the trauma of diagnosis and the grueling weeks and months of treatment of cancer.

Cancer Support For Families & Friends

Wellspouse Foundation
The Well Spouse Foundation is a national, not for profit membership organization that gives support to husbands, wives and partners of the chronically ill and/or disabled. Organization provides a bi-monthly newsletter, "Mainstay," mutual aid support groups in many areas, letter writing support groups and an annual conference and other regional and weekend meetings the country. The organization also works to make health care professionals and the general public aware of the great difficulties caregivers face every day.

The Cancer Club® was created by Christine Clifford in 1995 in response to her experience with breast cancer. Critically acclaimed, The Cancer Club® is the first organization to offer hope and support to cancer patients, their families and friends through the healing power of humor. It serves as a national clearinghouse for people affected by cancer, offering inspirational gifts and providing information and resources through a quarterly newsletter.

Gilda's Club
The mission of Gilda's Club is to provide places where people with cancer and their families and friends join with others to build social and emotional support as a supplement to medical care. Free of charge and nonprofit, Gilda's Club offers support and networking groups, lectures, workshops and social events in a nonresidential, home-like setting. Funding is solicited from individuals, corporations, and foundations.

Griefnet
GriefNet.org is an Internet community of persons dealing with grief, death, and major loss. On-line grief support provides help to people working through loss and grief issues of many kinds.

Healing Journeys
Healing Journeys is a non-profit corporation, offering free conferences designed to heal, celebrate and empower women. The purpose of this conference is to celebrate, empower, awaken, and network all women whose lives have been touched by cancer (or any life-threatening illness). Because women need powerful, confident, gentle role models, all the speakers and performers at the conference are women, many of whom are thriving after a cancer diagnosis. SHARE: Self-Help for Women with Breast or Ovarian Cancer
SHARE is a pioneering, self-help organization that serves women, men and children who have been affected by breast or ovarian cancer, providing opportunities for them to be more in control of their lives during and after a diagnosis. SHARE's model of survivorship also promotes public awareness and early detection of these diseases. SHARE's services include information hotlines in English and Spanish, peer-led support groups, public education, advocacy and wellness programs. Wellness Community
The Wellness Community is the largest support program in the U.S. devoted solely to providing FREE psychological and emotional support to cancer patients and their families. Look Good…Feel Better is a free, national public service program dedicated to teaching women cancer patients beauty techniques to help restore their appearance and self-image during cancer treatment. Through Look Good…Feel Better sessions, women learn how to cope with the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment.

The hotline provides information about all forms of charitable, long-distance medical air transportation and provides referrals to all appropriate sources of help available in the national charitable medical air transportation network.
